The 1.5T three-cylinder engine equipped with variable compression ratio technology has a power of 156 horsepower, which has far exceeded the parameters of the previous 1.2T engine. In addition, Qashqai e-POWER is driven by an electric motor, and the engine does not directly participate in vehicle driving, which also allows the new car to have better response speed when starting and accelerating.
The compression ratio of the 1.5T three-cylinder engine varies between 8:1 and 14:1. On demand, when charging the battery or supplying power directly to the motor, a lower compression ratio is activated to maximize the engine's power output.
