Xiaomi refutes rumors: JAC is once again denied that it is OEM for Xiaomi cars

A few days ago, it was learned from relevant channels that Xiaomi responded to the recent rumors that Xiaomi plans to acquire JAC Motors: "After confirming with colleagues in the automotive team, we have not had any cooperation with JAC Motors on car manufacturing and capital acquisition levels so far. We do not comment on market rumors after any discussions and contacts.”

In July this year, there were reports that Xiaomi Motors is expected to settle in Hefei, and JAC may be its OEM. However, JAC Motors responded that the content was untrue. Jianghuai Automobile said that as of now, the company has not discussed with Xiaomi about cooperating in car manufacturing, nor has it reached any intention to cooperate in car manufacturing.

Xiaomi’s car-making progress is accelerating. On September 1, Xiaomi officially announced that Xiaomi Motors was officially registered and established. The company is called Xiaomi Automobile Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 10 billion yuan. The registered address is Beijing, Xiaomi Group Founder, Chairman and CEO Lei Jun personally serves as the legal representative. It is reported that Xiaomi Motors’ first factory is located in Yizhuang, Beijing, and the first model is planned to be mass-produced in the first half of 2024.

In addition, Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established on November 18. The registered capital is RMB 1 billion, and the legal representative is Lei Jun. The business scope covers new energy vehicle manufacturing, technology research and development of complete vehicles and parts, intelligent vehicle equipment manufacturing, lithium-ion battery manufacturing, sales of cars, auto parts, etc. Stay tuned for more news in the future.
