It is reported that in today’s internal start-up letter from Xpeng Motors, He Xiaopeng officially revealed that 5 new and facelifted models will be launched this year (three models were mentioned at the previous financial report). Judging from the current known information, the facelifted models will include P7, G3, and P5, while the new models will be Coupe SUV and MPV models.
New P7:
The new P7 has been applied for by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It will be equipped with an 86.2kWh battery pack and has three cruising ranges of 610km, 670km and 702km.
The appearance has not changed much. A lidar version is provided. Unlike most new energy vehicles that are placed on the front of the car, the new P7's lidar is hidden in the headlight group. The interior will use the same steering wheel as the G9 and be equipped with the new Xmart 4.0 system. The central control armrest has been changed to a side-opening mode, and both sides are equipped with wireless charging pads. Compared with the current model, the new P7 has improved charging efficiency, but it will not be equipped with 800V charging and SiC. Other power parameters and battery life remain the same.
New Coupe SUV:
Among the new models this year, the first is the Coupe SUV. Although it has not been officially named yet, it is certain that the new car will be a model starting with G, but the suffix number is not yet certain. In terms of styling, the front face of Xpeng's new SUV adopts the same latest family design language as the G9, including split headlights and a closed grille. It is also expected to be equipped with lidar.
Coming to the side of the car, the new car adopts the popular fastback shape. The smooth roof profile slowly slopes downward from the B-pillar. It is also equipped with hidden door handles. The rear shape of the car looks very round. The taillight shape is expected to continue the through-style style of the G9.
It is reported that Xpeng’s new SUV will be built based on the new F platform. The length of the vehicle is expected to be similar to that of the P7, about 4.7m. In addition to having stronger autonomous driving capabilities, it will fully compete with Tesla in the future. Pull Model Y.
New MPV:
For the Xpeng MPV model, there is currently very little known information, but it can still be seen from the spy photos that the new car adopts the X-BOT FACE 3.0 design style. For details, please refer to Xpeng G9 and other models. From the side of the car, you can see that it has a typical MPV style. It is square and straight, and the body size is visually larger. I believe it will have a good interior space in the future. Regarding power and more configurations, we need to wait for further official news.
In the future, Xpeng Motors will be built based on the three major platforms of E, F and H. In addition to sharing parts (including chassis, power, intelligent driving systemsystems, etc.) to reduce costs, stabilize the supply chain, and improve development efficiency. At the same time, Xpeng's model SKUs will be reduced, and the configurations will be more streamlined and reasonable, making it easier for consumers to choose. In terms of assisted driving, Xpeng Motors is accelerating the development of the next generation full-scenario intelligent assisted driving product XNGP, and plans to launch main functions in the third quarter of 2023.
