Audi Racing R&D Center Expanded to Assist F1 Power Unit R&D and Testing

Audi's racing R&D center in Neuburg will be expanded and is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.

Information shows that the center was put into use in 2014. It used to be the base camp for Audi's WEC, Formula E, and Dakar factory team racing operations, as well as the corresponding racing business. birthplace.

The expansion project is mainly a 3000 square meter building named F7.2. In addition to test benches for power units and engines, there are technical rooms, machine workshops and office space for 60 people. According to the plan, part of it will be put into use in March 2023.

For reference, Audi has confirmed that it will join forces with Sauber to participate in the Formula One Championship and will use power units manufactured by Audi Neuburg starting from 2026.
