New American force Fisker recalls all vehicles, involving 12,523 vehicles

Fisker, a new American car-making force, recently issued a recall order requiring it to stop selling all 2023 Ocean models in the United States produced as of May this year because of the possibility of door handles Risk of getting stuck, preventing passengers from opening the door to get in or out of the vehicle.

Fisker is currently in bankruptcy proceedings and is likely to face liquidation. At this time, the recall will make things worse. Fisker said the problem was caused by a "dimensional change" in the size of the door handles. A door handle that is out of specification may create additional friction and fail to produce sufficient retracting force. "In some cases, the door handle on the outside of the vehicle may become stuck, preventing customers from entering or exiting. After a thorough investigation, Fisker determined this is a potential safety hazard. This issue becomes more problematic if the vehicle does not open properly due to a mechanical door failure. Very serious."

The company said in a statement that it recalled 8,204 Ocean vehicles in the United States, 513 vehicles in Canada, and 3,806 vehicles in Europe, bringing the total number of recalls to 12,523 vehicles.

This is the second time Fisker has discontinued sales in less than a month. Earlier this month, Fisker recalled more than 18,000 Ocean vehicles in North America and Europe due to software failures and noncompliance with safety standards, and plans to solve the problems through OTA software upgrades.

Previously reported that Fisker had filed for bankruptcy protection in the middle of this month. The startup said earlier this year that talks with a major automaker had ended, leading Fisker to look at other strategic options, including in- or out-of-court restructurings and capital markets transactions.
