Recently, we obtained a set of road test spy photos of the new Ford Expedition model from overseas media. The new car is a full-size SUV built on the same platform as the Lincoln Navigator. As a replacement model (fifth generation), it will adopt a new design concept and will still be powered by a fuel engine. It is reported that the new car will be officially released in 2024 and is expected to be introduced into the country.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a frameless front grille with a honeycomb grille design. The headlight groups on both sides present a layered structure and are embellished with C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The front enclosure of the new car adopts a relatively thick design, with ventilation and heat dissipation openings on both sides and in the middle.
Looking from the side of the body, the overall size of the new car is very large, and it adopts a hidden B, C, and D pillar design to create the visual experience of a suspended roof. At the same time, the new car's door panels and front and rear fenders are flat in shape, and are equipped with 24-inch wheels, further highlighting the attributes of an American full-size SUV.
At the rear of the car, the new car is equipped with a roof spoiler decoration and embedded high-mounted brake lights. The taillight group adopts a longitudinal layout of the internal light source, which also has a certain degree of recognition. In addition, the trunk door of the new car is very wide as a whole, and the recessed license plate frame area adds to the three-dimensional feeling inside.
At present, there is no more information about the interior and power. For reference, the current Expedition is equipped with a 3.5T twin-turbocharged V6 engine, and the transmission system is matched with a 10-speed automatic manual gearbox.
