IonQ partners with Hyundai Motor to improve next-generation battery efficiency

Recently, IonQ cooperated with Hyundai Motor. The two parties will develop new quantum computing methods to study lithium compounds and their chemical reactions in batteries to improve battery efficiency.

Quantum chemical simulation technology will improve the charge and discharge cycle, durability, capacity and safety of the new generation of lithium batteries, and is expected to significantly improve battery performance. It is reported that this project can develop new raw materials that save time, cost and energy in the next few years, which is of great significance in the batteries of pure electric vehicles.

This cooperation is an important part of Hyundai Motor’s 2025 strategy. By 2025, Hyundai Motor aims to sell 560,000 electrified vehicles annually and launch 12 models on the market The above pure electric models.
